Keyboard shortcuts
PureCutCNC uses a small set of keyboard shortcuts. On macOS, use Cmd where this page shows Ctrl, and Option where it shows Alt. Shortcuts that use Ctrl or Cmd do nothing while you are typing in a text or number field, so the field gets the key instead.
Everywhere
Section titled “Everywhere”These work in the web app and in the desktop app.
| Shortcut | macOS | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Ctrl+Z | Cmd+Z | Undo the last project change. |
| Ctrl+Shift+Z or Ctrl+Y | Cmd+Shift+Z | Redo. |
| Ctrl+A | Cmd+A | Select every visible feature. |
| Ctrl+C | Cmd+C | Copy the selected features. |
| Ctrl+X | Cmd+X | Cut the selected features. |
| Ctrl+V | Cmd+V | Paste copied or cut features. Paste features then asks you to click in the sketch to place them. |
| Ctrl+P | Cmd+P | Open Print design for the current design. |
Copied features stay inside PureCutCNC; they are not placed on the system clipboard. See Selecting and transforming for copying and pasting.
Desktop menus
Section titled “Desktop menus”The desktop app’s native menus add these shortcuts. The web app has no shortcuts for these commands; use the top toolbar instead.

| Ctrl+Q | Cmd+Q | Quit PureCutCNC |
Edit > Select All has no shortcut of its own; Ctrl+A selects all features as described above.
Sketch canvas
Section titled “Sketch canvas”These keys work while a command is active on the sketch canvas. The workflow panel of each command shows the keys it accepts next to its buttons.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Esc | Cancel the current step or command. In sketch editing, the first press leaves the active edit tool, and a press with no tool active cancels the editing session. Esc also ends Zoom selected, the tape measure, and dimension placement. |
| Enter | Confirm the current command. Finishes a polygon or spline with at least two points as an open path, finishes a composite path with at least one segment, and applies a sketch-editing session. |
| Tab | Open numeric entry for the current step: dimensions, width, radius, distance, scale, or angle. In sketch editing, it edits the dimensions of the segment under the pointer. In Cut, it moves from choosing cutters to choosing targets. |
| Backspace | Remove the last point of a polygon or spline, or the last segment of a composite path, while you draw it. |
| L, A, S | While drawing a composite path, switch the next segment to a line, an arc, or a spline. |
| K | Turn Keep originals on or off in Join, Cut, and the rotate and mirror transforms. |
| Alt | Cycle the axis lock: Lock X, Lock Y, then off. See Snapping and the grid. |
| C | In sketch editing, with no edit tool active, start Add constraint for the selected feature. |
| Delete or Backspace | Delete the selected dimension. |
Mouse and keyboard together
Section titled “Mouse and keyboard together”| Input | Action |

| Shift+click, Ctrl+click | Add a feature to the selection, or remove it. |
| Shift+drag | Pan the sketch, like a middle-button or right-button drag. |

Touch gestures are listed on Tablet and touch.
Tabs and panels
Section titled “Tabs and panels”In the workspace view tabs and the CAM panel tabs, ← and → move to the previous or next tab, and Home and End move to the first or last. Esc closes an expanded properties panel.
