Feed reduction
How it works
Section titled “How it works”
Feed reduction lowers the programmed cutting feed when engagement is more demanding. Slots only uses the configured Slot Feed percentage for full-width cutting stretches. Engagement measures cutter engagement along the emitted path and chooses a feed percentage for each stretch.
From slot speed to full feed
Section titled “From slot speed to full feed”With Slots only, a full-width slot uses Slot Feed and other cuts retain the programmed feed. With Engagement, lightly engaged stretches run at the full programmed feed (100%). As engagement increases, PureCutCNC selects progressively lower feed-colour steps, down to the configured Slot Feed for full-width cutting. The generated feed never rises above the programmed feed, and a full-width slot is never allowed to run faster than Slot Feed.
